Premier Blaine Higgs is warning businesses if they don’t comply with COVID regulations they will either be fined up to $10,000 or shut down. Higgs says enforcement officers visited 172-businesses earlier this week – most were in compliance – some were not.
The Premier says two retail workers were ticketed for refusing to wear masks and two businesses were ordered shut for non-compliance with emergency regulations. He says that is unacceptable 10-months into the pandemic and the time for education efforts is over. Watch an edited version of Premier Higgs comments re the situation below:
